Bioentrepreneurs – Tales From the Front

Nature’s Bioentrepreneur site recently had a look at nanobio startups, and telling their tales were Chad Mirkin, James Baker, Michelle Dipp and Christoph Westphal.

Charlie Harris and I were roped in to give our perspectives, Charlie on lessons learned from financing bionano whie I was asked to do a little myth busting – boiling it down to five was the hard part.

The real value of this type of article is in the first hand accounts of what it takes to get a business up and running. The advice I give time and time again to entrepeneurs is to talk to someone who has done it before, it is a strategy that has served me well, and there is an old adage that in order to be a successful entrepreneur you need to have at least one failure under your belt.
