Lights, Camera, Nanotech!

If you have half an hour to spare and don’t want to spend it looking at reports on patents, try a new film by Ivan Schuller, Rich Wargo and Adam Smith (with the support of the NSF) called “When Things Get Small.”

Most attempts to explain the nanoscale fall flat because either they get too technical, or they were produced by a committee of scientists with no idea about entertainment. “When Things Get Small” manages to avoid both of these traps with the use of peanuts, elephants and humour, and should be part of every high school physics course.

You can watch film in a variety of formats here.
