Malaysia has been mulling a variety of nanotech projects for the last year, but has finally put down some money, which has sparked a political frenzy to grab the funding.
The deputy Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Mohd Najib Tun Abdul Razak, spoke at length about military applications of nanotechnologies, claiming that “active nanotechnology research currently was focusing on applications in information technology and medicine while potential military applications of nanotechnology lacked proper attention.”
Well, we are sure that the military is looking very closely at nanotechnologies around the world, but could this have anything to do with the fact that Abdul Razak is also defence minister?
